How to Buy Your Wedding Dress Based on Body Shape
Choosing the right dress for your wedding day is crucial as on that one day you are likely to be photographed more in a few hours than you will the rest of your life. Knowing the shape of your body and what looks good on it will determine the style of wedding dress you will purchase.
* A fit and flare type of dress is best suited for the woman who has a lot of curves and would like to accentuate them.
* A scoop-neck gown works wonderfully on the small busted woman. So be comfortable being bold and daring as your voluptuos counterparts could never do. I would further recomend a strip of lace across the top of the dress to add additional “pop”.
* An empire frame dress is the best choice if you have a pear shaped body. That is because it is similar in that is has an “A’ frame type of construction. Use organza to lessen the “A” line shape.
* If you are petite you will want to consider going with something like a “mermaid” style of dress. Most petite women have always tried to select clothing that will make them appear larger than they really are and on your wedding day you most certainly will want to stand out.
* I usually recomend a dress with a short sleeve for the woman who has large arms as this will lessen their impact.
* A pleated wedding dress is usually the best choice for the bride who is interested in hiding their stomachs. This helps to give the illusion of a straight up and down symmetry.
* If you have “child-bearing” hips you may want a dress that minimizes their effect on your overall look. Check out a pleated wedding dress. This will make it look like your body shape is just part of the design of the dress.
Even after finding the proper dress architecture style you still have tons of decisions to make so that you create a look that will make you look exquisite on your wedding day. The same careful consideration should go into all the accessories you will be wearing on your wedding day.
