One of the decisions that you will spend a great amount of time on when preparing for your wedding day is which wedding songs to play. You will spend as much if not more time deciding on which songs to play than you will when deciding which wedding favors to provide for your guests. You will need to pick the songs for the ceremony as well as the music for the reception. It sounds fairly simple, but wait until the day comes when you have to do it.
One thing to consider before hiring someone to play at your wedding is what kind of music they can play. You might be surprised to find out that you are very limited in your choices. Some church organ players aren’t experienced in playing non-traditional wedding music.
Do you have any friends that sing really well? If you have someone in your family or even a friend who is an excellent vocalist then that is one possibility. In a situation like that, you may be able to get some customized music that is very special for your big ceremony.

When you are planning your wedding, and when working to choose all of the right parts of your unique day, the music that you are playing for every individual thing in your wedding day is going to be very crucial. Finding suitable music for everything beginning from your ceremony to the reception is going to be crucial since a soundtrack for your day is something that you’ll be spending a lot of time thinking about. Having a suitable soundtrack is one of the ways that you can make your day even more special.
Wedding entrance songs are pieces that are done in various ways. First of all, they can be songs that play at the time your guests are being seated and before the ceremony begins. These are crucial songs, because they are going to really set the mood for your wedding. They are also essential since in churches, and other places of worship, you might not be able to use the exact music you want to play during the ceremony itself.

When you are thinking about wedding songs, first dance numbers are going to be an important thing for you to consider. Most of the DJ’s that you hire are going to ask you what you are interested in for this most important song and you should give the matter some thought. Where do you stand when you are thinking about moving forward with your wedding playlist and how are you going to get the song that you know you want?
A related decision that needs to be made in addition to the first dance wedding songs is who is going to dance it. In the past with wedding songs, first dance performance was delivered by the newly married daughter and her father. In recent times, however, the trend has gone towards the fresh bride and groom to open the first dance.
The second thing that you should do is to consider your relationship with them. How do you feel about the person in question and how would you describe your relationship with them? For instance, if your father is distinctly anti-sentimental, choosing a very emotional song might be tough on him. Think about a song that will please you and that will at least amuse him.

In addition to all the other thousand details that you need to keep up with in planning your wedding is insuring that you have a great DJ lined up for your reception. You may think any monkey can play music but keep in mind this will be the entertainer at your reception and also will be interacting with not just you but your guests. Here are some things to keep in mind:
* Does the DJ have backup equipment on hand while performing at your reception. Nothing is worse than dead silence at a reception. Be sure the DJ has adequate backup equipment so that if something breaks he can immediately source his backup.
* In addition to his musical ability be sure he can speak eloquently. Remember he will be the one making announcements. Besides his voice you will need to verify he has a good working microphone. Prior to the reception make certain that you and he have agreed on the music to be played and the length of time he is expected to perform. Never assume he knows where to be and when to be there. Be clear about your expectations.

With all the other tasks you have to get completed prior to your wedding, selecting the right DJ for your reception is one of the most important tasks. Most people think anyone can DJ but there are other skills that he will need to possess. I have outlined some issues to consider when selecting a DJ:
* Will he be able to fully cover the reception area with the equipment he has. No nightmare could be worse than seeing your guest sitting in eerie quiet.
* Besides musical skills he needs to be able to stand up and speak clearly to your audience. Keep in mind he will periodically need to get up and make announcements. The microphone he uses is as critical as his speaking voice. How long he will be needed as well making sure you and he agree on the music to be played should be done prior to the reception. He cannot read your mind and so needs to be told precisely what time to be set up and ready to go. Be explicit and what you expect and never assume he knows your plans.

Romantic gifts are hard to come by. Giving a dozen roses a dozen different times simply gets old and un-original.
When was the last time you heard that special song that reminded you of that first kiss or your first love? Giving someone a CD of his or her favorite romantic music is one way to go. Music engages the emotions like no other stimulus, which is why it’s so necessary for setting a romantic mood.
But let’s take this whole concept to another level. Let’s say you got stuck for a few hours in an elevator with one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Lionel Richie. The next day is you and your girl’s anniversary and you don’t have a gift yet. So to kill time, Lionel says, “Let’s write a song for her!”
He says, “Well, hey, I wanted to show you my grand piano anyways. Let’s go!”
And so the song begins with, “We began as a simple melody, through joy and through pain we’ve grown into an endless symphony…” All of a sudden, you feel like you’re in another world, as a colorful vision hits you. You’re realizing that this person you love is the one you want to spend your whole life with.
