Wedding Planning Basics
Your big day is coming. How do you plan, prepare, make sure that it is perfect? You have many things to consider, many things to think about: colors, arrangements, traditions. Do not do it all yourself. Get help.
Paying For Your Wedding
It used to be that the wedding was paid for by the parents of the bride. This is not set in stone. It is definitely ok to seek financial help from family and friends. It does not have to be in the form of money. The bad side to asking for financial help is that they might want a say in how your wedding should be. Compromise, you might actually like the ideas you get.
Wedding Invitations
Wedding invitations are an important part of planning a wedding. Do not just invite whomever to your big day. It is too much of a risk, a roll of the dice, a cross your fingers situation.
Other than that, your guests should arrive solo. You do not want people you do not know or trust crashing your big day. What a mess that would make.
What Wedding Gifts?
What about wedding gifts? Your guests do not know what to buy, so register for some things you and hubby want. Do not limit yourself to a toaster and bread maker.
Ask for things that both you and hubby will enjoy. Ask for a pair of skiis and hotel reservations and take hubby on a smoky mountain honeymoon. Hot, hot, hot!
The Dress
The wedding dress, the centerpiece of your wedding. What to wear? What color? What fashion statement? Many things to consider, but only you can decide. Do not limit yourself to traditional white. Do not be plain Jane. It is outdated. It is old fashioned.
Be bold. Be creative. Look through magazines. Visit wedding dress stores. Get ideas. Try on dresses. Pick three you like. Ask your most trusted advisers which you should go with.
